How IGBOs Can Develop Their Economy Without Federal Goverment Presence

I have came across many south east Nigerians doubtful about their inclusion in Nigeria project, many of them felt that they are not part of Nigeria or they are second class citizens. Also I have seen many of them asking and pleading with federal government of Nigeria to at least came to their rescue but all fell on deaf ears, Even though they suffered a tragic civil war i have to give them kudos so far on how they have survived and build up their regions economy with their little wealth. In as much as that has helped it is still very clear that the region's economic is experiencing a stunt growth.

Here are ways Igbos can build a vibrant Economy on their own:

1. Discard Individualism/Unity

It is only in igbo nation that I have seen an astonishing individualism even though it helped after the Civil war it is a old trend in this modern era. There is need for all well known igbo technocrats, Governors, senators and the people to come together and put their ills aside and contribute their ideas and form a great front to tackle their Economy issues.

2. Institutionalization

There is always need for institutionalization, it helps to sustain a program and give out a clear and easy objective just like W.H.O, U.N.O., ECOWAS, igbos can tag the institution (I.E.U) Igbo Economic Union, ( E.D.I.) Economic Development of Igbo Nation.

3. Strong leadership

This is one of biggest problem in igbo region, lack of leadership and direction. There is always need for good and strong leader that will be vocal and have the love of his people at heart, this will go a long way to aid development in igbo nation.

4. Provide land for Investors

Government from this zone should try as much as they can to provide adequate land to investors and make sure it gets subsided to lobby in this investors to increase infrastructural development their zone.

5. Reduce taxation

Yes, even thou tax funds the zone's Government it shouldn't be used to discourage investors or kill businesses, at least they should give small business some breathing space to grow for a moment before taxing them.

6. Media

Anyone which does not know that media enhance development then the person is living under a rock. Media helps to educate, mobilize and enlightens the people and furthermore keeps government on their toes. Media is very important agent of development, for now I have not seen any media house heading igbo agenda in Nigeria and they certainly needs one.

7. Launch Fund-Us

Yes, I believe igbos can fund and develop their region awesomely, Igbos are selfless and passionate group of people that only needs a profitable direction and you see them in action. The distance between the home and the diasporas needs to be closed up to increase mobilization of the whole region and I bet in 10 years, Igbo region will become the biggest economy in Africa.
